WATSON
May 15, 1999 - September 14, 2007
In memoriam:
“With dignity and gentleness of heart, my uncommon friend completed his mission as he saw it. He came in love and he left in love,
slipping out so softly one could but imagine a gentle breeze, and nothing more. Behind he leaves a mighty wind, an expression of unconditional love,
a power to heal the planet earth. For this beloved friend was love. Total joyous unconditional love.
… With dignity and gentleness of heart, my uncommon friend said good night.”

“I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were crying. You found it hard to sleep.
I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear,
"It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."
I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea,
You were thinking of the many times your hands reached down to me…”

Watson and his "little brother" Malcolm were inseparable buddies.
Sharing the heat in front of the woodstove was their favorite place in the winter.

Watson's marker is on the walk of the Animal Rescue League in Bedford, New Hampshire. Pepper (above) was my dog before Watson
.
Watson's last photo. September 2007. He wore my old shirt to protect the "hot spots" caused by chemotherapy. He passed on a couple weeks later from lymphoma. His life was way too short, but filled with love. Malcom (right) is now 8 years old and healthy.
